French Frye

True story.  Marie-Louise Gay is the author/illustrator of the Stella and Sam books (now a Disney cartoon) as well as the  Caramba books.  She was in town for the Frye Literary Festival.  She was very nice, but a good half of the room was there for an English show (that's my guess, but the looks on many faces, not to mention those that walked out, tells me I am close).

Some wires got crossed somewhere along the way.  There was no language mentioned either way for the 10am reading and since the program said she was doing a reading later that day at the Dieppe library I assumed it would be in English.

Oh well.  We had a good time and we got our Stella book signed.
